East Anglians 'most likely to make windscreen claims'
Motorists in East Anglia are the most likely in the UK to make insurance claims related to windscreen damage, according to new figures.
Research by cover provider Churchill found that other areas where a large number of claims are made concerning cracked windscreens are southern parts of England, as well as London.
The company also speculated that those living in farming areas are the worst affected due to heavy machinery leaving debris on roads.
Claire Foster, spokesperson for Churchill Insurance, said: "It is important to get windscreens fixed as soon as they are damaged, even when it is the smallest crack.
"Many people do not realise that windscreen claims will not affect their no claims discount under most insurance policies, so there is no sense in delaying the inevitable."
Recent research by Admiral found that CDs, GPS devices and mp3 players are the products most commonly stolen from cars.
It was also found that other people have claimed for the theft of unusual items such as dog food and celery from vehicles.
